The prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAI) has been identified as a key objective in improving clinical outcomes of patients in U.S. hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other care settings. Health care professionals in both facility settings and community settings have focused considerable attention on the prevention and transmission of infection as well as the management of multi-drug resistant organisms. Past and current programs sponsored by HCIF have provided valuable resources for providers in improving infection control.

The likelihood of getting a serious or life-threatening infection at one of Southeastern Pennsylvania's hospitals decreased from 2006 to 2007. For more information, click here.
