Pamela Braun, RN, MSN is the Senior Director of Patient Safety Partnerships and Initiatives. In this role, she is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight and analysis of HCIF’s patient safety programs. Her current projects include:
 
  • Directing the two-year Regional Clostridium difficile Collaborative, which began in November 2009.
  •  
  • Co- directing the Regional Demonstration Project to Improve the Safe Use of HYDROmorphone, a nine-month collaboration with the Institute of Safe Medication Practices.
  •  
  • Providing consultative services for the 2011-2012 CT Radiation Dose Safety Collaborative.
  •  
  • Co-leading the Regional Falls Reporting Initiative with the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority.
  •  
  • Coordinating and overseeing the annual Delaware Valley Patient Safety Award Program, recognizing the most effective and innovative patient safety advances in the region.

Pam was previously with Virtua Health in Marlton, New Jersey, where she was the Director of Quality at the Voorhees division for five years followed by a corporate position as the Director of Clinical Practice, Standards and Excellence in the Patient Care Services Department.   Prior to this, Pam was a consultant for CareScience; a data analyst at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; and a staff nurse (primarily in obstetrics) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University Hospital.
 
Pam’s educational background includes a BSN from Villanova University and an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania.
