HCIF would like to thank the hospitals that submitted projects for the 2008 Delaware Valley Patient Safety Award, all of which are currently under review by the Patient Safety Award Selection Committee. The award winner will be honored at the Delaware Valley Healthcare Council’s annual meeting on October 30, 2008 and will be presented with a grant of $5,000 to support patient safety initiatives.

Since 2002, this award has recognized providers in this region for their contributions in advancing medication safety. In recent years, a number of entries have reflected exemplary efforts in promoting not only medication safety but patient safety as well. HCIF has therefore broadened the criteria to consider innovative and replicable patient safety projects. This award process is one of the ways that HCIF promotes best practices in patient safety throughout the Delaware Valley and advances the goal of making the region the safest place to receive care.
